I found a listing for an ipad2 for $300.00 on craigslist on approx. 2/17/12. I exchanged some basic information and was hoping to see the item first, because it was supposed to be a "local" transaction, but the girl claimed in her emails that she moved to Canada, and would not be back for 16 months mails. (I have all retained all of the emails). So she asked if we could make the transaction through ParcelForce (www.parcelforce.us ) and Western Union. The item would be shipped, I would have 5 days to accept and inspect the item, then I would email ParcelForce that I accepted delivery. I was given an invoice number, and was told I would have the item tomorrow, but the money would not be taken until I said that this was a good transaction, and that my money was refundable until I was happy. I transferred the money at a Western Union site on 2/20/12. It was transferred to an 'agent' of ParcelForce named Justin Marvel in Bolton, UK. ParcelForce claims to be an international agent, so this did not seem odd given the connection between Canada and UK.

I did not receive the item, but contact was cutoff today from ParcelForce, who did respond to me yesterday, within 5 minutes of my email. I filed a claim with Western Union, who said that the money was already claimed and I could not get it back. ParcelForce does not answer the phone, and the number is not working, but the website says that they can do transactions with multiple companies, FedEx, DHL, etc. The email address I used to file the complaint is: [email protected]

I've reported this to every agency possible, including VeriSign, who was oh so NOT helpful. I don't believe that I trust them anymore either.
