BE WARNED... they've taken the "Financial Gaming Services" piece off of their letters. My (extremely gullible) friend got a letter in the mail from "Peter Lucas" claiming she is the beneficiary of a $100,000 settlement as well. Thankfully I was with her when she got this in the mail because she was all ready to go to the bank and deposit the stupid "check" they sent her for over $3000.
So many things tip you off that this is a scam:
1. You are told you are the "beneficiary of a settlement." Same paragraph says you were "chosen" to receive this money.
2. "Keep this completely confidential... until your settlement has been delivered to you." Fat chance.
3. GRAMMAR MISTAKES. I counted at least 5 different grammar and punctuation mistakes in ONE PARAGRAPH.
4. No company name anywhere on the envelope or letter.
5. UTI... never trust a check that has the same initials as a painful bodily infection (haha).
