Fred Myer has a new policy, whereby they display a BLATANT sign that reads $1.99 (in big bold numbers) but they use a "hidden" message in "tiny" white letters inside a "tiny" red box that reads: "when you buy any 10".

Even if customers wear glasses, their eyes aren't usually focusing on very small print far below the "deceptive" (bait) cost sign, which is 50 times bigger than the white-inside-of-red very narrow boxes.

Now, how many people really care to spend $18.00 in order to so-call save only $3.10 for "10" of the same items?! They duped me twice on this "tiny" Ad! Then they expected me to wait in a long line (having a back problem) to get the difference on an item that they used deceptive practices on= to lure customers with the BIG BOLD $1.99!

Well, I argued with the store manager and all he said was: "if you read our flyer, you would have seen: "when you buy any 10" sign, and that was "also" very tiny, as I later read it.! This is absolute nonsense! It is trickery, as my son pointed out.

Can Consumer Financial protection Agency (one day) get absolute power to stop these stores from using gimmicks, such as the one I just mentioned? Something MUST be done to protect customers, (for a change!) Especially the poor!

My son and I only get a tiny bit over a $100. each in SNAP benefits that don't last us to the end of the SNAP cycle, and our incomes are VERY low, measly. Price-gouging stores hurt most people!

Please do whatever is necessary to prevent gimmicks and price-gouging to continue! These stores WILL continue to use these deceptive practices as long as the Federal and State governments allow them.
