After reading their blog on Facebook and being encouraged by my Financial Advisor, I appointed and instructed Bennett Carroll solocitors to prepare 'Consent Orders' for our 'Divorce' property settlement. I gave them the Informal Agreement on 7th November 2010, which had been signed by both parties and independantly witnessed, and instructed them to prepared the legal papers to support the agreement. Four months (4) and $54,000.00 in legal costs later the document was finally prepared but has still not been presented to the Court for 'Stamping and Sealing'. They have invoiced me twice for work I had already paid for and fabricated charges for work that was never requested.
Their blog sets out the procedure in easy to follow steps but they just kept putting more and more obstacles in our way, dragging out the settlement so that they could claim a huge amount of fees from the released Superannuation. I have refused to pay the overcharges so they are now suing me for the double charged invoices.
The blog is called 'Surviving your Divorce' but the only thing that needs surviving from is the unethical lawyers handling your case.
