I found an ad on Craigslist for Red Wings tickets so I emailed the seller. He said that he had just moved to AZ after getting a promotion, which was why he was selling the tickets at such a good price. He said he would only do the deal through eBay, and that he needed my name, address, and eBay ID. He then doctored a fake invoice that appeared to be from eBay, and sent it to my email from the email [email protected]. He said his paypal account was unavailable, so I'd have to send the money through Western Union to an "eBay Agent" who would hold the money until I verified that the tickets I received were legitimate. The "agent" supplied an address for the money transfer that was located in London. I realized it was a scam before going through with it, so I didn't lose any money, but less savvy internet users may not be so cautious.
