I started a extended warranty on my 2004 Chevy Silverado C1500. I was told that the policy was a bumper to bumper and would make 18 payments of $149.89 started paying after Oct 14, 2011 and made a down payment of $195.00. When I received the policy that actually started on Jan 12, 2012, noticed it said "Basic"...not bumper to bumper. So went to General Motors dealer and got a quote for a bumper to bumper for the same 100,000.
When I called National Vehicle Protection they really bullied me and intimidated me for over 30 minutes and asked me questions about how come I would pay 90 dollars more..told them it was bumper to bumper..but they were very intimidating and rude..talked with 3 people and all were the same...they belittled me and tried to make me feel like I didn't know what I was doing and wanted to know about my finances..I kept insisting on talking to customer service to cancel the policy and after the 30 minutes of intimidation, I really wanted nothing to do with them. At the end of conversation they told me to write them a letter to cancel..and I did so..mailed it certified with return request. I also cancelled my Debit card so they can't draw out any more payments as of today when I called them. The next payment is not due until Feb. 15, 2012..the policy # was UPV40173336. It really bothers me that if they will intimidate me at age of 62, also really think they were this was because I am a woman..one guy even told me that I really need to take a breath and listen to him..I tried...they never wanted to go to the cancellation.and what would they do to elderly people that were afraid of them and afraid to say anything to them or to be firm as I was.
Thanks ..just wanted to let you know the info I had on this company.
