International boundaries

It sounded like a great offer ... $4.95 for an introductory bottle of each product. I didn't think the shipping costs would be very high as: a) it seemed to be on an Australian website (www.weeklyhealthaus.net), therefore no international freight charges should apply, and b) it even highlighted the fact that shipping was $4.95AUD.
On the Order Confirmation, it stated that the order would be fulfilled within 48 hours. I waited about a week, then rang the Customer Service number, but just got an automated message.
It didn't dawn on me that it might be a scam - I guess I'm really gullible. When I got my bank statement, and saw these unexplained costs, I realised that they matched up with the day I bought the products.
So because I've already got the statement (but haven't paid it yet), I think it might be too late and I've become their latest victim.
This was the first time I've bought anything on-line. Won't be doing that again in a hurry! If ever. How do you know who to trust?
