I responded to an advert for a trial period of both products where I had to pay postage only, amounting to £5.46, for each product. The product did not arrive as promised, but due to the Christmas post and never having failed to receive what I had ordered on the internet before, I did not panic. I went away for Christmas and on my return on 28 Dec I found an e-mail from the company dated 19 Dec congratulating me on becoming a member. I sent an e-mail that day saying I had not received anything from them and could they look into it ASAP, but they did not reply. When my husband was checking our credit card account on line on 29 December he found the company had taken a further £57.95 for the Lean Clense and £37.40 for the Lean Slim out of our account. I rang the number from the e-mail and found the so called UK & Europe number diverts to America. The man who answered said it was toll free, but that cannot be true as it isn't an 0800 number. He wasn't interested in my order number, I just had to spell my name & give my address. I got the impression that this is not a company but a one man band. He wasn't interested that I hadn't received anything from the company & wasn't interested in finding a tracking code to discover where the product was. He told me the trial period starts the day they post the product out - it is coming from America! - and that you have 18 days trial period. If you don't cancel within that period - although there is no telephone number on your order confirmation documents, then they charge you for the full cost of the trial bottles. I told him that as the full terms & conditions are not provided on the invoice I printed off then I am not bound by them in the UK and I was not aware of these conditions in any event. Also he refused to reimburse the total of £106.27 they have deducted from my credit card for which I have received nothing. I have advised my credit card company, who will persue it on my behalf. This company needs to be exposed. I have told them that they have commited an offence under the Theft Act 1968 in that they have obtained a pecuniary advantage by deception having charged my credit card for a product I have not received and refusing to reimburse those charges.
