Complaint 4986 Details

I was looking for a vehicle on Craigslist. I found one that interested me and inquired to see if it was still available. I was emailed back that the seller was being deployed to Iraq and has lowered the price in order to sell it quickly. They gave me information that the sale was being handled by an Ebay Motors agent so I found it to be legitimate. I also requested the VIN# to run a carfax which I was provided and it came back clean. Through correspondence I was told the funds had to be wired via Western Union. I sent the money and received one email stating they had received the funds and that I should hear something in four hours to arrange delivery of the vehicle which supposedly was in Bethesda Maryland. All correspondence stopped which was odd because we emailed quite frequently. I found it to be odd so I googled the address of the Ebay agent and it was a building with multiple physicians. I then googled the agents name and he was also a physician. I found that to be even more strange so I went to the Ebay Motors website and BOLDLY it said that Ebay does not work with Craigslist. Do not purchase anything it is a scam. There were scenarios given of the emails that are being sent that perfectly describe the emails that I received. I called Western Union and they verified that the funds were in fact withdrawn. The investigation has now begun but I dont know if I will ever get my money back. The liklihood is very slim I am being told.
