I ordered a Dynasty dvd set and received their confirmation letter.
When the set arrived, it was a complete scam - no colour - no sound - no subtitles; made in China.
They have not answered my complaint and the website does not seem to exist any more

  • Beware, there now seems to be another site that has cropped up with exactly the same presentation: http://www.crashreadybackup.com

  • Contact [email protected] - I eventually got a response from them and that's where it came from. Be patient and hang in there; it's possible to eventually get a refund. The return shipping address I finally got from her was:
    Name : Lin SX
Address (street) : Guangzhou shi san yuan li 57 hao
    Postal Code : 510400
    City: Guangzhou
    Country : China

  • Mike, they expect me to post pack the dvds (at a cost of $31.50) which they will not refund. I will not throw more money out of the window! The dvd's are totally useless to anyone and they know it.

  • Yes, in the end the send-back step seems to be of no interest to them. In fact mine were eventually returned unopened (!) - perhaps the address they gave me was a scam as well. HOWEVER: International trading rules don't let credit card companies dispute payments unless the customer has attempted to return the goods - so basically, you have to do that if you want to request a refund and have your credit card company back you up. When the dust settled, I got a FULL refund from the MemoryLaneDVD folks because I persisted, sent them back (with a tracking number), and let them know I would pursue the case with my credit card company and other agencies if I didn't - and even though they said they would not refund their initial shipping costs, they did. So - they ended up with nothing, and were down the pirating time and materials - I ended up being out the cost to ship the stuff back to them (to no avail). It was a $50-ish lesson in never buying internationally again on the web, for me. (Insufficient recourse.) And of course in researching all sellers first. (Actually it was a lesson for my son, who'd done the ordering w/o looking, too - but I learned a bunch about international e-commerce that's good to know.) BTW, in mid-argument they offered to refund $70 and let me keep the DVDs. :-) By persisting I got about $30 more back than I would of had I given in at that point.
