Total Merchant Services (somehow affiliated with Global Pay) was the credit card service used at the salon that I worked at. The owner changed services, and the rest of us had to change to the new service as well. We were never told that everyone had to call and cancel their individual accounts on the old terminal. The terminal was no longer in use, and no transactions were processed after October 2009. But, Total Merchant and Global Pay never followed up or looked into the fact that ZERO transactions had gone through any accounts and continued to take $39-$50 from each of our checking accounts each month FOR A YEAR after the terminal had been inactive. They'd still be taking that money if I hadn't noticed and filed a complaint. They refunded one month ($44) to each of us, and refused to do anything more. I spoke with a client who works for a different processing company, and she told me that when there are no transactions they look into it and contact the customer. But, Total Merchant/Global Pay doesn't care about their customers obviously. They've kept between $500 and $600 each from two of us and told us there's nothing more that can be done.
