I came in for a seminar for camping and RV vacation packages. The entire presentation quickly shifted to a sales presentation for vacation membership. After the presentation where the salesman presented the company as an "alternative to the time share scams out there", I was lead to believe that I could buy into this great oppertunity "today only". One promise given was that I would be able to use this "one time fee membership for a lifetime of vacation discounts with no annual or maintenance fees". What I received was membership to a discount program that actually costs $299 more per year to be a part of. The entire sales presentation was presented as a lifetime investment, that would only pay you back over the years..." and that is not a problem, because you are a member for life with no more cost to you". I have tried to make contact with both Ocean Canyon Properties. I was asked to make a deposit and the owner and rep went all out making the offer "unlimited" and worked out financing to "lessen the burden" on me as a single mom of two. He read the contract aloud to me but conveniently skimmed over the "no cancellation" clause and asked me to write what I liked about the membership, which I now realize was a CYA tactic. My visit was followed up by a call the next day where the rep offered to answer any questions that I may now have. My main one was why can't I cancel and he said a Texas law was passed at the beginning of the year restricting cancellation.

  • OCP is horrible! We got scammed and tricked into free cruise and vacation in 2011 December by their salesmen in Ocean Canyon Travel. They promised we didn't have to pay yearly dues and they will do it from their referral programs. They said they will give in writing and they did not when we we were shown to the door after signing the contract! Also, they promised unlimited Platinum and Gold rewards and they are all bogus! I sent a cancellation letter immediately when I came to know online that there were scammers but OCP declined! We should get together and file a lawsuit and there are plenty of people willing to do it. Also complain to the State Attorney general, NAM and BB. Post your case in internet: http://www.natlassoc.org/schemes/lifetimedues.htm

I contacted my lawyer and we are preparing a lawsuit against them and complaining to Attorney General.
