Was at the SA on White Bear Avenue just North of Larpenter. Clean cut younger, Itallian looking dude in a newer Sport Mini van hollered at me asking if I could use a brand new surround sound system. Told him I had one. He said he recieved suplus product and if he took it back to the shop his boss would just take it and sell it. He showed me a catalogue with a $2,995.00 MSR and showed me the box, that was new and strapped with plastic bands. He said the last guy he sold a set to agreed to pay $600. but his ATM would only let him have $500.00 so he gave him a deal. He was all friendly and said hell, I could just give ya these if I wanted to. I said I could only get $300 max out of the ATM. He asked if I was "telling the truth". I assured him I was. He went on to say it was "my lucky day" and said, I give to ya or $300. but if you see me out, you have to buy me lunch. I was hustled big time. I could feel it at the time but my Ego wouldn't let me back off and walk away. This guy was so slick and so "nice". He wrote down his humber and he helped me load it into my car and slit open the box to pull out one of the speakers and showed me "what a deal I got". When I got home I googled the speakers name and scam. Viola... Here am I will a bunch of other innocent folk. I appear to have paid the most so I am the King of the scammed. I hooked them up and they do work and sound sligtly better than my old ones, but this is definately a huge scam. My heart kind of goes out to people who can act so cool and nice and knowingly "rip off an old man". My condo is in forcloure and I have no business buying speakers. Buyer beware. Food shelf for me for the next few weeks. Gads I feel like an idiot!!
