Went to the WarrantCheck.com to check for information for a client. Advertised price is for $1.00 per check, which as it turns out is false advertising! When credit card information was given and submitted, I was advised that the $1.00 charge would be listed as from PUBLICCRIMECHECK.COM.
While waiting for the information to be sent to me and nothing was happening, I contacted their online chat and asked about the time frame to receive the information and at the same time I checked my bank statement and found an $18.95 charge instead of the $1.00 charge they advised I would see.
When I advised “Amanda” on the chat line, she said I signed up for 25 checks for $18.95 a month for 12 months! I did no such thing!!! She advised me immediately that they would cancel my account and I would not be charged any further payments!
I then was sent an email saying my account was cancelled and was not due any further money, but they kept my $18.95 and told me there was no information on my client! Which is not true, according to my client!
I will be filing a complaint with my bank, but I wanted to file this complaint with you first! Thank you
