I was purchasing a car on FB Marketplace, this person represented him self as Facebook Marketplace Buyer Protection. The first red flag was the car was way underpriced for the value. The seller gave a sob story of being in the US Army and deploying at month end for the reason the price was low. They asked for payment in the form of pre paid Visa/MasterCard Cards (Green Dot). They sent confirmation & we were to receive the car in 3 days. The following day they wanted $1000 more for extra shipping insurance & taxes. The seller offered to cover $500 of this new fee, we went to cancel the transaction and the person representing FB Marketplace Buyer Protection disconnected our call and that number wouldn't accept our calls. 3 Red Flags, undervalued item being sold, a personal phone number not an 800 or 866 number & having you use pre paid cards for purchase. There was another car being sold via Amazon Marketplace using pre paid Amazon Cards beware and don't be suckered like we were.
