If any of you are planning a vacation at a condo affiliated with a timeshare company, do everything you can to stay away from the sales room and representatives. The sales reps will promise you gifts if you just listen, but before you know it, you are walking out of the presentation with a timeshare membership. For me, a promised 90-minute presentation turned into 6 hours filled with exciting promises that turn in to be lies. My experience is with Bluegreen. The smooth talkers there got me excited about the wonders that would be bestowed upon me and my family if only I made a purchase. I fell for it and proudly left the sales rooms with a purchase that promised to be a great financial investment and the ability to travel anywhere at any time at a price that be much lower than hotel rooms, thus saving much money and getting luxury. Don’t fall for it. I can’t get a reservation where I want to go at a time I want to go. It is costing much more than I was led to believe it would, mostly because of ever-increasing maintenance fees. I have tried to get Bluegreen to take back their misrepresented timeshare, but they refuse. One of the promises was that Bluegreen would take the timeshare back if I no longer wanted it. They will not stand by their promises. My only options are to continue to pay or stop paying and let my credit score take a hit. I have chosen the latter. I can’t afford to keep paying. The only positive thing I can do is warn others by sharing my experience. Stay away from timeshare sales!
