I had a problem with my computer and decided to contact PC Medic and clicked on it. Slimware pops up and starts contacting me and through phone says they can fix my problem. It would cost me $99 so I gave the ok. The next day I called PC Medic and found out it wasn't them that helped me but it was Slimware that hijacked my computer. I'm not too swift about computers. PC Medic is part of Defender and they offered to look at what was on my computer. All the work Slimware supposedly did on my computer to fix it and all the threats was still there and a tracker. The first thing I was advised was to call my credit card and close it and file a complaint. Slimware is suppose to be free. I paid for Defender but they cleaned everything up for me, removed all threats and tracker that was on there. Sent me legitimate receipts and contact info. Now when there is a threat detected I get notified and they automatically take care of it. I contacted slimware to cancel and they refused to reimburse me. Now I'm fighting them. I also learned they are foreign based. Foreign people working on my computer and Defender is located in the United States and I have their address as well. I paid $99 nothing that was done. Now I keep getting pop ups for Slimware Driver updates that are constant. I am getting ready to get rid of that too.
