My father was watching the news online. The screen went white and stated that the computer was infected. He needed to contact a number, which he did, and paid $150 for them to fix his computer. After finding out what he has been through, we realized had been scammed. We closed all accounts relating to the payment, contacted the company and requested for a refund. They stated that they would give us a partial refund (not sure if that itself was a scam). We'll see in 5-7 days. The bank said to attempt to gain a refund from the company and if not, contact them to file a claim for fraud. The bank itself would attempt to get your money back for you.
