Was promised 6 days 5 nights all-inclusive resort 2 adults 2 children 12 years and under. I explained I did not qualify my child was 13. Representative claimed that it would be okay that my my child was so close to the cut off age that I could still qualify for the vacation and no additional charges would result. I was also given a bonus vacation 8 day 7 night cruise certificate for 2 adults, which I would receive after the primary vacation was completed. I recently tried to make reservations on the 6 day 5 night vacation. I was contacted by phone and asked where I wanted to go. I said the Cancun area of Mexico. The woman explained she would email me a list of available resorts . after receiving the email and reading it it explained that I had agreed to a 90-minute timeshare meeting which I had not been aware of. I further did research on the three hotels and found that my 13 year old would be charged additional $90 per day. Also many reviews stated that, the resort properties were like cut in half one side for members or VIP and the other less nicer areas for prospects. Which all seems very odd. I then proceeded to call the reservation woman back by phone, which she was unavailable but they would have her return my call. I received a call the next day, I explained to her that I was unaware of the 90-minute timeshare meeting and that I had been told my child would not cost additional to the pre paid amount for the vacation package. She did then confirm that the hotels would charge additonal fees upon check out. She then offered me an additional vacation for free, on top of the other two that I had already purchased for the inconvenience that I would have to pay at the resort for my 13 yr old child. I told her if I had been given honest information. Especially about the time share meeting I would not have purchased the vacation package but also would be charged an additional 540.00USD @ the resort for my child. Now my out of pocket would be 2,470.84.00USD and I haven't purchased air fare yet. And that's just for 3 to Mexico I then asked for a refund. And told her I was no longer interested in the so called. Promotional discounted vacation package. She explained that it was non refundable. That I could sell it off to someone else or just book it and take a chance. They may be legit but at this point I don't have much confidence and most likely we would get to the Cancun area and be screwed. $$$$$$$$$$ if you know what I mean. I will dispute the CC charges @ this point and not be so quick to purchase in the future without doing more homework on the company's who offer what may sound like a good deal.

  • James, were you able to dispute the charges to the CC or did you take the trip? i would appreciate your help, I am in a similar situation. I wouldn't have purchased if it weren't for a high pressure sales, and my daughter will also be turning 13 soon.
