I purchased a "Vacation Package" for $1042.84 on 5/16/16. I was contacted by phone from 800-920-0745, by a Mr. Mike Florez who said he was with Marriott Caribbean Winds International and his direct line was
800-903-1362. I received a PDF of participating hotels from which I could select the property I wished to spend my vacation. It and subsequent emails that day were signed by a Manny Maniaux. I was told I had a total of 18 months to take my vacation, along with bonus vacation. When I went to reserve my vacation dates on Jan. 4, 2017, In received a reply stating someone would contact me regarding the vacation.
On Jan 5, 2017 I received an email with an attachment of what I would need when I arrived at my destination. The attachment stated that both adults must qualify on all the listed points, including income and that if all qualifications were not met, we would have to pay an additional $150 per day per person for the room. In addition to that, we would be required to sit through a 90 minute presentation and a tour of the property after our welcome breakfast. before we could continue our vacation. This was NOT what I was sold. I could have booked a timeshare vacation presentation for free on my own!
When I called to discuss the bait and switch, I was told to send an email to my reservation specialist, Orlando Recio, and he would contact me to discuss the reservation within 2 hours. I sent the email at 1:51 PM, it is now 4:01 PM and he has not called. What a surprise!
