This person was verified on Militarycupid.com, that is the reason I talked to him. He immediately took me off the site, and we spoke via email, and then text and phone. He was very well spoken, there was no need to be alarmed, he seemed legit. He said he was an engineer, and got a job in Spain. A few days later, he said he was robbed, and needed money to pay for a lawyer because the Spanish tax office wanted 52,000.00 from him for the job site and he could not pay. He locked his bank account. I sent him enough for the lawyer, and then he needed more, because the tax office wanted 15% of the 52,000. He also wanted money for plane tickets so he could come home to get his accounts straightened out and return to Spain to finish the job. Then he never boarded the plane, and claimed he was arrested in Turkey, to be detained in New York as a US citizen. Well. I tried to verify his story with the Consulate, and they advised me it was a scam and not to send any money. He was asking for 5,000 more to get out of where he was being held. I did not send any more money, but it was already too late as I had sent over 10,000 and could not send any more. He asked me to send money to two different people in the US, and $7,900.00 to an individual's bank account via wire transfer in Spain, an ING account in Milaga. The names of the people involved in Spain were Uchi Obasi, Frank Ocoduwa, in the US, Johnette Woolett in Kansas City and Jeanette Barria Alicia from Conneticutt. I have addresses of most of the people involved. If it had not have been for the Spanish Consulate informing me, I probably would have tried to send more. I have reported this to the ICB and the FTC with names, amounts and addresses of the individuals involved, but haven't heard anything from them. Now the number given to me is telling me not to text that number anymore as he has been taken back to Spain. I beleive now that he was always in Spain, and never in the US. He did give me his passport number, but I do not know if it is legitimate or not. Also as part of his story he claimed to have his daughter with him named Victoria Faulkner. In addition I was contacted by someone who claimed to be an agent Antonio Mendez, who is actually a retired CIA agent. The email given was [email protected], a fake Consulate email. The phone number given for this person was 409-356-5012. I have all text's, emails and paperwork in regards to this case, spanning over 2 months.
