I ordered a pair of Steve Madden boots from a website that claimed to be for an online shoe shop in the US. No confirmation email arrived, and when I looked at my credit card account the payment had already been taken by the above company, based in China. Alarm bells started ringing. A pair of boots turned up a month later, looking nothing like those ordered, smelling strongly of nasty plastic and clearly shipped from Shanghai... I'm now pursuing a claim of misrepresentation with my credit card company. Oddly enough, the original website has strangely disappeared... what a bunch of bandits.
