We bought a manufactured home in April 2016 from Palm harbour homes in Oregon with the seller being in Cranbrook BC. Since we bought this place for $175,000, it did not pass inspection by the RDCK for plumbing and insulation. BC Safety Authority said the place was not fit for occupancy until the electrical was inspected by a qualified electrician. We were forced to go through a dark room to reach a light switch, the range had a 30 amp dryer plugin (which has since been changed), the dryer plugin did not pass code, the shingles are the wrong color, electrical was placed crooked, we had a 15" toilet brought rather than a 17" toilet, the master bath toilet was so close to the wall it was impossible to sit on rather than it being centered, floor tiles did not match up, hearing vents were in the middle of the floor rather than under a window were the heat loss is, island was imcorrect (and still is)'p the fridge opening was 36" rather than the 30" that was ordered, the range opening was 3/4" too big, walls that are bigger on top than the bottom, doors that did not fit but hit the frame, kitchen tiles that were obsolete and came with a brown grout when a white was ordered, range fan that was not punched through the roof and the list goes on and on. In fact, we were given a confirmation order for a customer in Sacramento CA and the retailer argued with me that items for our house when the confirmation order showed a different house, wrong size, different dormers and came with a sky light which we never ordered. We have pictures to prove everything along with e-mails. We were told 5 - 6 days for a set up, not 2 months, the set up crew were pulled off this job almost every weekend and then showed up 2 - 3 days per week, if they showed up at all as the kept getting pulling off by John Dalton of Columbia River Homes who owns Kodiak Homes as well. We have waited over 6 months to move into a manufactured home. The reason we chose this option was speed to move it. Had we know it would take this long, we would have stick built a house avoided this problem. We did tell John of Columbia River Homes to take this unit on Aug 12, 2016 due to all the problems we saw. But, he said he would fix everything and legally we decided to comply.
