The company sent workers to the neighborhood to sign people up. She had a car accident and it affected cognizant brain. They told her she had 2 months to decide if she wanted to change back to the other energy provider. They were there on the couch telling her to say yes to the person on the phone. She returned to her regular energy provider because it was NOT cheaper than where she was to begin with. Now they are charging her an early termination fee and claim it is because of the, "small print", terms were agreed to. They said they would listen to the tape and see if they could hear them in the background. When she called them today they said that she owed the money. She lives alone in her own home. Her fault was in believing the lie the people who signed her up told. She followed their instructions and discontinued prior to the 2 months. Now they want a disabled mentally incapacitated person to pay them an early termination fee from her social security check. The only income she receives. She's scared to tell her parents because she thinks they are going to send her to a home. All that is required is to remove the fee. I am furious that they took advantage of her.
