While browsing videos in YouTube, computer locked up and was switched over to a BOGUS website called microsoftsupport.com. This screen was largely covered by a warning that our computer had several viruses, someone had hacked into our computer and was attempting to access facebook accounts, email accounts, and photos. There was a warning not to exit but to call Microsoft immediately at the 1-888 number provided. We called the number and allowed the technician remote access to our computer. He did not fix anything but show us how serious the problem was and then started quoting prices. Feeling very uneasy I quickly terminated the conversation, then disconnected my computer from internet to disconnect him from my computer. Checked with computer expert and this was indeed a scam. Note: This man also went to https://www.livetechnician.com/ to show me all his 5 star reviews to impress me. This man used the names Duncan Kimull and Duncan James and the phone numbers to call were 1-888-605-0345 and 1-888-389-7614. Our computer expert did a scan on computer and found 1 threat which we removed. Thankfully no harm was done.

  • Its a bigtime scam that these companies are doing. I, myself, have been a victim of these fraudsters. Do write a complaint to FTC using this link:

    https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/Details#crnt

I have come to know that, they are operating from India with their centers in Noida, Jaipur, Mohali and Dehradoon and robbing off people with more than $1.5 mn every month. Their websites are - www.livetechnician.com and www.onlineresolve.com and many others. They simply send 100% FAKE and forced POP Ups to customer's computers and charge a handsome money saying that its a virus.

The company is registered as Live Technician Technical Solutions Pvt. Ltd. with its registered office in New Delhi and the CEO's name is Samay Vashisht.
