I am writing to inform people of a new scam I believe O2 are running. It goes like this:

When a user makes a payment to O2 via the O2 mobile app, the payment is deliberately frustrated by O2, even though the money leaves the customers bank account. The bank has already authorised the funds, but O2 sends the user an error message asking to make the payment again. If the user refuses, because the funds have already been paid, the account then becomes past due and O2 then adds on late payment charges. It would appear that the entire scheme has been devised to fraudulently obtain late payment charges from consumers, which have recently been introduced. If you contact O2 informing them of this, they do not listen. If you ask them to inform your bank that they have not received payment, they refuse. Your bank will not refund you the money without this. This is a massive scam and should be publicised and investigated this as I believe it is a wide scale problem at O2.

I wanted to inform other users of this so they do not fall prey to these tactics.
