As of 6-16-2016, this Company, Credit Acceptance Corp., filed a petition to garnish my wages for payment on a vehicle that I have not had in over six years. This overpriced vehicle was repossessed after I had lost my job paying fairly good wages. Since I lost that particular job, I have faced serious financial hardship. I find it hard to believe that nobody has taken ownership of this vehicle and accepted responsibility of payments. This forced garnishment, of which I was NOT notified of to defend in court, has put a further financial hardship on me and should not exist at all. If I am continued to make forced payments this vehicle, then it should be returned to me. I have never encountered, nor has anyone that I have discussed this with, ever had to make payments on somebody else's vehicle that they do not know or are aware of the vehicles' location.
I would appreciate this unlawful matter resolved or I will file a complaint to the Better Business Bureau for it's unethical and harsh treatment.
I was under the impression that it was the IRS garnishing my wages for my Federal tax payment, not for a vehicle no longer in my possession. If I would have realized that fact sooner, than I would have addressed this matter earlier.
