Went in for a patch test prior to laser hair removal. After discussing the treatment, I did mention on the medical form that I do have very sensitive skin. As I was leaving, I felt pressurised to pay the whole amount for the treatment in advance as she said she had an offer and she would stop the promotion end of August but if I paid that day she would honour the offer for the full body laser hair removal at £699. Initially she asked for cash or debit card. I didnt have those and paid by credit card. No appointment was made to start the treatment nor was a review arranged for her to check the results of the patch test. That evening, I did get a rash in the area of the patch test, the skin was spotty and sensitive and itchy. I applied some hydrocortisone and took an antihistamine tablet which helped resolve the situation. I tried calling the salon the following day but there was no answer and prior to that voicemails are not responded to. I had a groupon for the salon the following week and decided would discuss this issue that I do not feel comfortable going ahead due to the way I reacted.
The following week, the day of the Groupon, I get a call a few hours before my appointment was due and Meeta the owner of the salon who carries out the treatment cancelled the appointment telling me there was a family issue. When I was sympathetic to that and agreed to reschedule despite paying for the groupon and it was too short notice as day off work was arranged, when I was informing her that I came out with a rash and wanted a refund for the laser hair treatment that I had paid for but had not started, she became rude, aggressive and refused to give a refund saying she is the one to decide. She would not acknowledge or send me a confirmation that she cancelled the groupon and she was very rude about refunding the £699. Her messages were very rude, she is not entitled to the money if she has not started treatment and she was negligent by not arranging a follow up appointment, not picking up calls and cancelling appointments. I am now going through claiming back through my bank not knowing the result of that but will also take legal action against her.
