We travelled to New Glasgow to bring our son to University to St. FX in Antigonish. Upon arrival on Thurs. Sept. 1 at 11:30 pm we did not receive the amenities that where described. The air conditioner was not blowing any cold air, the TV was not working and there was mold in the bathroom. The following morning we checked out first thing and we cancelled our remainder two nights with Tara Inn and had to find other accommodations elsewhere. We spoke to the clerk at the front desk about our issues and were told the manager would be in contact with us on Friday Sept. 2. When the manager Cheryl West did not call back we dropped in and my wife talked to her briefly as she was apparently going into a meeting and told her she would call her back after she was finished. No call back by Cheryl West. Several calls were placed to Tara Inn to speak with the manager Cheryl West. Call logs placed by myself to Cheryl West Sept. 3, Sept. 8, three calls, Sept.9, Sept.13, she finally answered my call and said she needed confirmation from expedia that we also cancelled with them before she would issue any refund for our stay. On Sept. 19 I called Tara Inn and spoke with Cheryl West and she informed me that she did talk to expedia and they confirmed that we did cancel and that they also confirmed an email was sent. She then said she would not refund our stay and that's too bad. She was very unprofessional and rude towards myself. I did not receive the accommodations we paid for and that was false advertising and breach of contract on there part.
