Triple A (AAA) referred me to a AAA recommended repair shop to have my odometer calibrated. I took my car to the shop, National Auto in New Port Richey, Fl and agreed to leave it there overnight. When I went to pick it up, I was charged $4000 for work I did not authorize and the odometer was not calibrated. After much effort, I was able to get a AAA official to meet with me and the owner of National Auto. They attacked ME. Had I known that National Auto was a D and F rated garaged by the Better Business Bureau, I would have never gone there. The owner stated he doesn't know anyone named Mike, but that is his store manager. Interesting, Mike is the most common male name in world. They charged me for work not done and parts not provided. I feared for my safety as National Auto owner was LIVID and red in the face, ready to pounce on me. I left as quickly as I could from the meeting. I also moved, not leaving a forwarding address as National Auto is rumored to have underworld ties. I believe it. Beware of AAA and National Auto. Locals are very familiar and eager to reveal their history with both AAA and National Auto.
