In 2013 I contacted Prescription Hope and qualified for receipt of 2 prescriptions. One was a prescription was for my COPD medication Symbacore and the other was for Vitorin a cholesterol medication. From the get go there were problems...the wrong dosage was sent 3 separate times requiring me to use my inhaler 8 times a day instead of 4. Each time I contacted my doctor and he tried to intervene but I finally gave up hope of ever getting the right dosage. That left only the Vitorin. In March of 2016 I went into my doctor and he gave me a new prescription for cholesterol medication. I contacted Prescription Hope and cancelled their services as I decided it was easier going to a local pharmacy for the drug. 2 days after my appointment I received a 90 day supply of Vitorin...a drug I could no longer use...since I had already contacted them cancelling their services I did not bother repeating what they already knew. For several reasons I did not look at my bank statement until early August when I discovered that Prescription Hope had charged my account $30.00 every month.from April to August. I tried contacting them and wound up leaving an email. Supposedly, they tried calling back but they said they never did speak to anybody. My records show NO such call was ever received. I contacted my bank and they told me that they could charge back 3 months of prescriptions but that I was too late to have the other 2 charged back. I then called Prescription Hope and finally got to talk to Ashley. I was then told that the charge-backs would be denied and sent to collection BECAUSE Prescription Hope doesn't charge for medication they only charge for services???? Their records indicated that the cancellation was not posted until MAY and that since they had sent out a 90 day supply of the Vitorin in March they were allowed to charge my bank account because they were 'servicing' my account. I was then told that there was a $25.00 fee for any service or change made to my account. When I questioned WHY they kept servicing an account that had been cancelled they said it was because they didn't post the cancellation until May...in that THIS made no sense I further questioned why I had to pay for a prescription I could no longer take and had cancelled, I was told again that I wasn't paying for the drugs I was paying for the service. When further questioned as to why charges were made in August when NO prescription had been received or was on file I was again informed...the cost was for service not the drugs. Basically once Prescription Hope gets a hold of your banking information they charge your account regardless of cancellation, change of drug or non delivery. I was told I would taken to collection for any charges and that a service charge were being applied for this conversation. Jokingly I said 'How and when DO you stop being charged for account servicing? Die?' and Ashley said 'No we can still service the account then too'....at this point I was utterly dumbfounded and hung up. Now remember Prescription Hope doesn't charge for drugs they charge only for servicing the account....up to and including death. In a sense you sell yourself to the devil if you sign up with Prescription Hope...let this serve as a warning for anyone considering using Prescription Hope..DO NOT DO IT. I guess I can expect my grandchildren to continue this battle after I die..Ashley indicated that they will continue 'servicing' my account and charging my bank account every month....... At this point the only hope I have is that my bank will see the folly of this charade and block any future transaction from these thieves of course THEN I will probably start getting collection notices...What a mess.
