Received call from 757-504-1430, from John Rodricks. He gave his IRS badge # IRM27805 and also gave my case id # CH76295 claiming that I have 3 serious IRS tax violations 1. Federal Tax 2. Misrepresentation of taxes 3. theft by deception. The call seemed genuine and they told me that if I hang up the call or after the call ends, my case will be active and a police with IRS agent will be at my doorstep and I will be sent to jail with no bail for 72 hours and that I cannot approach a CPA and only thing I can do was to get a criminal laywer after 72 hours in jail. They also told me that they had sent numerous letters which I did not respond and then they asked me few more questions after that they mentioned that I can do an OOCR out of court settlement by paying $5500. I have been paying taxes regularly on time and even after being a good citizen, the call made me think for few minutes that I might have made incorrect tax payments. These scam calls are now becoming very realistic. Beware!
