I did not go so far as to get any money scammed out of me because I have come across many scams lately while trying to find a dog and have been very skeptical, doing research on every "person" I am speaking to in order to weed out scammers. But I have come across a complaint on this website that is very similar to a "person" that I have just spoken to and just want to warn others about this additional fake persona of the scammer.

I came across a listing for a "fun chihuahua puppy for adoption - $180" in Brunswick, ME on eBay classifieds and thought I would contact them about their chihuahua puppy "Chaney". The listing read as follows: "Here is my cutie Chaney right here. she has got good feeding habits, home and out door trained. She is excellent in health condition, veterinary checked, treated with Nemex II wormer, registered and confirmed health guarantee. She is very good with humans and other home pets. Please i will like anyone willing to adopt Chaney to take this very seriously. I am giving her out for adoption with a small adoption fee this is because i have been sick for some time now and it has affected my hearings so i have an appointment with my Doctor so i have been called up for it i will since i will be going in for a surgery too and i will be in intensive unit for a very long period of time. Actually i grew up with this hearing problem but the situation has really aggravated.I really want chaney to go to a lovely and caring home that will her so much love and care since i am incompetent to render this service during these difficult moment of my life. Please any loving home willing to adopt Chaney should contact me for more details."

I thought I would give it a chance and email them, and I also reverse image searched the photos that were with the ad just to see if I could identify them as a scammer right then and there (this has been very helpful for me - just go to images.google.com and drag a photo into the search bar - it will come up with anywhere else that photo is found on the internet, be sure to click on "all sizes" if it comes up, you will more than likely find where the photo really came from and will know that the seller is a scam artist) anyways I did not come up with any results with these photos so I thought ok well maybe this is for real, fingers crossed.

So I emailed this person and probably 4 or 5 days later they got back to me with this email: "Thanks for your reply. I call my puppy Daisy. She can live any
where and she has got very good feeding habits, home and out door trained.

She is excellent in health condition, veterinary checked, De-wormed, vaccinated, recent on shots, registered, adorable and confirmed health guarantee. She is very good with humans and other home pets. Please i will like you to take this very seriously.

Reason for letting Daisy go:
I have been sick for some time now and it has affected my hearings so i have an appointment with my Doctor so i have been called up for it since two days ago and i will be going in for a surgery too and i will be under
intensive unit for up to 6 months. I really want a caring family for Daisy since i will be away during this my difficult moment.

Also Daisy can only be released if the following is agreed:
Please you will provide adequate indoor sanitary facilities with proper

veterinary care and will receive annual veterinarian visits.

Daisy's photos are attached.

Re homing fee $180"

They had also included additional photos of the puppy. Well first I thought ok this is all fine and good and since I wanted to confirm their location, before getting into any of the details, I simply emailed them back asking where they were located so that I could ensure I would be able to pick the dog up. Then I thought I will go back and look at the ad to see where they are located. I realized that in the ad, they had called the puppy "Chaney" and in the email, they called her "Daisy" so I immediately got a scammer vibe. I emailed them back a second time and asked why the inconsistency with the name in the email and the ad, and I have not yet received a response. I think they know that I have realized they're a scammer and do not want to respond. I also reverse image searched the additional photos they sent me and found one of the photos somewhere else on the internet on a dog breeder site.

I noticed in one of the complaints I had read on this website regarding some cats that someone almost got scammed with, that the wording in their scammer's email had some parts that were identical to what my email had said and so I was sure of the fact that this person was a scam artist, clearly using different personas, emails, pets, what have you to scam people. I had also seen the same exact wording on other ads on the internet. I did not actually proceed with this scammer but seeing as how the other complaint was affiliated with "Jet Pets Animal Transport", I figured this was where the scammer was headed and so I used this "company" for my complaint. Hope no one else gets sucked up into this scam.
