On 2 June, 2016, my computer crashed after clicking on a supposed news item. A page appeared, identifying me as a T-Mobile customer; that my personal information had possibly been compromised and that I could recover by calling a technician at 866-927-0073 - for an apparent fee. Note that Experian (the credit reporting agency) had been hacked several months ago and T-Mobile customer data downloaded. I am a T-Mobile Wireless customer.
I telephoned 866-927-0073 and spoke with an Asian male (David?) who identified his business as Live Technician in Las Vegas. He refused to answer further questions.
The Las Vegas Better Business Bureau identified a business by the name of Live Technician at 187 E. Springs Road, Las Vegas NV.
A dispatcher at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department stated there was no such address.
There is no business license for Live Technician in Las Vegas.
Law enforcement agencies have been notified..
