Efreescore.com runs a scam where they are targeting people on Craigslist looking to run a home or apartment. I responded to a Craigslist ad and received an email shortly after that the apartment was available and they would like to set up a showing. They requested that I get my credit scores checked and included a link to Efreescore.com. They told me to bring my credit reports to the showing. So I went to the website and made sure it was a trusted site- then paid $24.95 for 3 credit reports. After this I emailed back letting them know I was ready to set up a showing and received a reply that it was an invalid email address. I called efreescore immediately and made them cancel my account. They then let me know that I was signed up for annual monthly payments which I in NO WAY elected. They were a pain in my ass and tried to convince me that they weren't a part of any scams and tried to talk me into keeping my account. NO THANK YOU, who would ever want to do business with such a disgustingly dishonest company who's marketing is based on scams? I have found several reports knline since then that this has happened to other people from ALL over the country. Since then, I have responded to a different Craigslist ad and received the exact same email. Lesson learned- never use this company or whatever credit check company "somebody" suggests over email.
