I was checking online for payday loans. Stepps called and offerred a $5000. loan with affordable monthly payments. Sammy Sue emailed the contract, which I signed and returne it along with a $350. processing fee. I would get the money back in the loan. A couple of days later I called to inquire status. They advised, by mistake, my loan was approved for $10,000. Now they needed additional monies because my credit was bad. I sent $500. thru MoneyGram. I would have the money deposited in my account in 30 minutes. Stiil, I did not receive anything!
Called back & now they needed $700. for border taxes. A week later, still no money. Now they needed money for transfer fees.
I made a total of 8 MoneyGram payments with a total of $3,800.00.
I called them back to advised I had borrowed all these monies to send them with an expectation I would received my loan! They advised, my money had accrued interest of approximately $2000. so I was actually getting $12,000.
I am disabled and owe almost as much money as the original loan I was seeking! They promised the money...they are a reputable company & this had never happened before! Hook, Line & Sinker!!!
I advised I wanted my money back ASAP! I needed the loan to pay my past due bills. My electricity was being turned off. My cell phone was disconnected. Not only my past due bills but now I had to repay friends & family the $3800! Their response was that it would take 30 days...I also needed to send them $700. for border taxes in order to release my funds!
I advised them I had filed a complaint with the FTC for their scam!
(I am at a loss for words and a loss of $3800. of borrowed money!)
What do I do now????
