A very polite African American man came by my house and gave me his whole spiel about how he was going door-to-door collecting money for books for school children to help him earn a scholarship to finish going to school to be a teacher. I empathized with him because my boyfriend does door-to-door sales, and I know how difficult it can be. So I gave him $30 cash to donate a year's subscription of magazines to a class of children. Afterwards, I immediately felt skeptical and tried multiple times to call the number on my receipt, but it was busy all day every day for weeks. And then today I received a bill from them telling me that I still owe them $30! There is no number anywhere on the "bill" so I googled Millennium Sales, Inc and found all of the scam claims and again tried to call them multiple times, but if course, it is still busy. I'm sure I'm naive to think that I can get my money back, but ultimately, I would just love it if these people were no longer allowed to rip people off.
