If you are known by the company you keep, Tech Live Connect is a scam. I first received a pop-up impersonating McAfee. Stupidly I followed the instructions and was directed to a "Restore" website. (I first went to device manager to check drivers - which all said they were using the latest driver. However, this is Windows 10 and thus, in my view, very unreliable.) This first technician went into my machine, executed "msconfigsys" and the resulting panel showed 50 or 60 programs with a status of "stopped" Frightened, I signed up for a technician (supposedly certified) to fix my machine. When he executed "msconfigsys" the result was very different. Only about two panes of data, and most programs were "running" This was the "fix." I was a little skeptical, but only after he had finished did I realize that what I saw was logically impossible. They also added a pop-up blocker. After they finished I had severe second thoughts and called McAfee. The technician there said that McAfee does not monitor drivers at all. She reviewed my system and we removed the software they had added. I have read positive reviews of Tech Live Connect, so perhaps they have a legitimate business, but accessed through fraud and deceit.
