I am thinking this is related to TechPC247. Called Belkin with a possible router problem. During their remote access diagnosis they said they would have to call in their Tech Support, so the call was transferred to Techzone247.
They pulled some of the same tricks as the TechPC247 did. Pulling up the Event log and moving it around so I couldn't focus on any line, and blaming some errors on the csrss.exe trojan.
This computer has been protected by Kaspersky for years, but they said Kaspersky wouldn't catch that, which is BS according to Kaspersky.
The fellow also did a DOS screen DIR/S and during the long listing, typed in a fake error message, so when the listing ended, what he typed would be displayed, and I was supposed to believe the DIR/S was supposed to be some virus scan.
Then finally they offered a One Month support as part of the $99.
