Random call from a person claiming to be representing Microsoft stating that I was on their callback list and that my PC had been hacked. I had an earlier convo with the same person (Jasper) who resolved a problem I was having, and since I was familar with the name I took the call. I am not new to the internet, technology or scams, but because I worked with this person previously I proceeded until he spang on me that to fix all the problems would cost me $299.99. Long story short - this is a sophisticated operation that had my personal info and called me back from the call I made earlier when I needed tech support. Not sure how they do it, but it caught me totally off guard. I called Jasper out on the scam and ended the call. I was able to restored my PC's system / log to just prior to the call and did not lose any files, software, etc. I was lucky. I plan to call Microsoft to report the problem. BE VIGILANT!
