I feel a strong need to warn folks avout Colonial Penn, who tried to scam me but didn't get that far. One of their reps cold-called at my front door earlier this year, but I don't open for unannounced strangers. He then cold-called me just minutes later. I demanded his company's headquarters number, and after claiming he didn't know it, he miraculously found it. My first two calls to them, they were hostile and insisted I phoned them in the past. The third call, the guy says I had called them THREE YEARS ago, and they were just now following up, they Said, they didn't want to leave any "loose threads." I have never, ever needed or inquired of ANY company about life or funeral insurance. Positive. They argued with me. They finally rattled off their license numbers to me, deliberately so fast that they obviously thought I couldn't keep up, but I could. So I reported them to their State insurance board and the Feds. I warn you that they are scammers. What real, honest company would wait three years to follow a lead anyway, or send a stranger to your door unannounced? These are the guys who advertise with the host from Jeopardy on television... A good company wouldn't need to do that. Almost any product or service advertising on TV is of dubious quality, as a rule, and they use his celebrity with vulnerable old folks to scam people. They barked up the wrong tree, with me. Blatant liars! I felt the need to go online and issue my own warning... And if you search, you will find other stories from people they actually have managed to rip off on technicalities. Sheesh! (This site insisted on a date so I had to give them one, but it happened earlier this year, 2015.)
