I went in to cancel my month-to-month personal training membership on April 22, 2015. My reasoning for canceling was because I was getting married on May 15, 2015 and I could not afford to continue the expensive payments when I had a wedding to pay for. I explained that when I went in to the gym and the employee who I spoke to (Sam Mitchell) made me VERY uncomfortable. He kept trying to persuade me to stay after I said no MULTIPLE times. I felt like he didn't believe my reasoning for wanting to cancel. After about 30 minutes of just trying to cancel he had me sign the cancellation form electronically and gave me a copy. He told me because I wasn't giving 30 days notice that I would be charged again, which was understandable. He also said I had 18 unused sessions with a trainer.

My husband and I got back from our honeymoon at the end of May and noticed we were still being charged. We called Youfit and they told us we needed to speak to the manager and that he would contact us. My husband called 3 days in a row. We put stop payments on each time they kept charging us. Finally, my husband called and got to talk to the manager. He told him to tell me to come in and all I would have to do is fill out another cancellation form. I got there and he told me I couldn't do that because there was a balance of $480 and I had to pay it. WHAT!?!?!?! They had no record of my cancellation!! I thought I had misplaced my copy of the cancellation form they originally gave me so I asked him what can be done. He told me he had to go make a phone call to his financial department. When he came back he told me he would let me train once a week at $70 every two weeks. WHAT?!?!! WHY!?!?! I DON'T WANT A MEMBERSHIP!!! I was so angry I started tearing up. I am a very honest person and this upset me so much knowing I did in fact come in to the store and cancel. I told him I needed to speak to my husband and we would come back tomorrow and figure it out. I got home and started digging through ALL my paperwork trying to find my confirmation of cancellation. Well, I FOUND IT! Tomorrow we will be going in to show them that I AM NOT A LIAR! I am so angry with this company and offended. Not only am I proving to them that I cancelled and will not be paying them $480 but I will also cancel my regular gym membership and I will NEVER return to a Youfit and I will make sure none of my friends do either!
