Simply put:

They quoted my job at $900 and the total ended up being over $2,000. They never stopped along the way to ask me if they could charge my card for these "additional charges". Not once. They just made assumptions about me and my pet and it resulted in me being out $1,100. Let that sink in before you decide to do business with these crooks.

Now the long version:

I needed my recently deceased mother's dog picked up from the human society in Charleston, SC and shipped to me out in Denver. When I called and asked for a quote the young lady on the phone said the job would cost $900 but it could cost a little more depending on the price of the flights. Understandable. I asked again what was coming along with this $900 price tag. The young lady confirmed that the stated price was for the transport, crate, and airfare. I went with this company because that price was lower than their competitors who do ground shipping. Their quotes were for just over $1,000. So I went with these guys because not only were they cheaper, they were going to get me the dog faster.

Bridget, the owner, has assured me that there is no way one of her employees could have said this to me. So I must have been taking crazy pills that day. I just must be lying.

The night before the scheduled pickup they picked up my mothers dog from the SPCA. Not to sure why they did this, but they charged me for it. They charged me for housing the dog overnight even though the dogs flight was not until noon the next day. They never asked me if this was ok and I never got an answer as to why this happened.

Then they tell me the dog does not have the proper paperwork to fly so they have to rush it to a clinic and get that done...a couple hundred dollar charge.

Then they have to change flights for some reason. No clue why, really? Oh I know why because the crate they bought does not fit properly on the airplane they originally scheduled. So now they have to drive the dog a couple hours north to Charlotte and incur a change of flight fee which they charged me for. Now the dog that was being delivered to me in the early afternoon is coming in till 10pm. I live an hour away from the airport. This is not cool.

But the best part about all this is that while all this is happening throughout the course of the day no one tells me that my credit card is just being swiped for all this. When I called to question them about this, they acted like it was no big deal. They took off the price of the crate upgrade and flight change and acted like they were doing me some kind of favor.

After a nice talk with the owner nothing was resolved. I asked her how she felt about what had transpired and she couldn't care less. They had my money and they knew there was nothing I could do to get it back.

My favorite quote from her "We learned a lot from this job. Mistakes were made and we will learn from this going forward". No I am paraphrasing but you get the jist.

Bottom line, these people took advantage of me when I was down and in a rush situation. They pulled a classic bait and switch. This could all be a one-off. Maybe I'm the unlucky one, but I could not in good conscience recommend this company to anyone.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.
