I booked a room on 3/28/15 for a stay from 4/11/15-4/13/15. My credit card was charged $246.56. When I checked out, my bill said $188.25 - a more than $55 difference. Not only that, the bill shows "Expedia rate". I called Reservation Desk to see about getting the difference refunded and the person I talked to, Ivy, was rude and unsympathetic. I was told I could not get a refund because the agreed upon rate at booking was what I was charged and what I would pay. If I want it changed I have to call the hotel we stayed at and get approval. I did that and am waiting for a call back. Not too hopeful that Reservation Desk will do the right thing and refund me the difference. What is the point of booking ahead of time if I'm going to overpay? And why use Reservation Desk when they just use Expedia? I feel like all I did was overpay so this scam of a 3rd party site can run an awful business.
