I downloaded some health and safety advice from what was supposed to be a free service, only to receive a small publication in the post with an invoice for £89.60. I ignored the invoice as The publication was supposed to be free, and certainly was not worth the sum proposed. I returned the next publication with a note stating that I required no furthwer publications and that I did not feel the publication held any relevance to my proposed business. I also pointed out the fact that the free publications I get from industry sources provide all the same information and more detail for free, so I had no further interest in receiving their publications as I concidered them to be a scam. The following month I received yet another publication, which I returned unopened. I then received an invoice for yet more money with requests for immediate payment. the following month I received yet another publication. I have now decided to return this publication with a first clas stamp and recorded delivery with further letter advising them that I am forwarding the case to trading standards, as the amount of information provided, the costs of the publication and relevance to my business are not proportionate.
