I was promised by American Careers that: (1) I would receive a package from them with my assigned Applicant ID Number and a Password. (2) I would receive this package no later than ten days after the date I mailed off my package. After the ten days had past and I had not received any package, I called the advertised number 212-629-1777. I called several times, but would only reach a recording. I did some additional research online and obtained some other numbers (443-898-9990; 717-690-7056). Still I received no answer. Then on Wednesday morning (12/24/2014), I called again and left a voice message. I received a call finally that afternoon (12/24/14) from someone named Melody Markakis. After explaining the situation to her, and she conducted a check, she then asked me whether or not I had not received a follow-up call from an Yvonne Foxworth? After responding "no", same stated that she saw that an email was sent to me on the 20th. I checked the email, then informed her that ONLY an Applicant ID number was emailed to me, but no password. Additionally, I was promised that both the Applicant ID number and Password would be included in the complete package they would have mailed out to me. I then informed her that the 20th is more than the ten days from the mailout package date which they assured me. She said she would go ahead and resend the email again. She further stated that Yvonne must have gotten busy and caught up, because from what she was reading, I was on the list for a call back and that time had already past. She then inquired whether Friday (12/26/14) would be okay with me, to receive a follow-up from them? After answering "yes", she assured me that the follow-up appointment was confirmed. Needless to say, I did not receive the follow-up call then; nor to this day. I have since placed SEVERAL calls to American Careers (almost on a daily basis), left repeated voice messages; ALL of which have been ignored to date. I called on these following dates and left messages: Friday-12/26/14 twice, Monday-12/29/14 at 2:52pm, Wednesday-12/31/14 at 11:28am at which time I requested a complete refund if they don't come through that day. I again called on Wednesday-01/07/15 at 1:02pm, Thursday-01/08/15 at 4:46pm,and again today Wednesday-01/14/15 at 8:21am and AGAIN requested a complete reimbursement, and STILL all attempts to get a response went unanswered. To this date, I have yet to receive any calls, additional email, or mailed package from American Careers. I am hereby requesting at this time, that I be paid monetary damages for the Thirty-nine US Dollars that I'm out, the postage that I paid to send them the Postal Money Order; to include my resume package with cover letter, and reasonable compensation for all the stress that American Careers have caused me. I have had other job offers between the time I've been waiting on them, but because of salary they advertised for applicants with experience, their offer looked more beneficial from a monetary and benefits package standpoint.
