This company is as shonky as they come. I received an offer for cheap $99 air fares and asked several times if there were any conditions or catches. At no time did the operator disclose that the offer was subject to booking accommodation through the same company. After surrendering my credit card details I become aware a condition that accommodation through Getaway escapes had to be booked to receive the Cheap flights. I found this out via an email that I received after I had agreed to purchase the flights. Too late my account was already debated. Upon becoming aware of the condition to book accommodation I contacted Getaway Escapes to request more information, at which time I decided to request a refund. As I had entered into an unsolicited consumer agreement and it was inside the 10 day cooling off period I am entitled to a full refund. In fact they have broken the law by debiting my account prior to the cooling off period.
Well I have been given the run around ever since. I was asked to put my request for a refund in writing. I received a reply to my written request for a refund and was told a member of their Quality team would been in touch. It never happened. So I contacted them and was told that I have to return the flight package back to them. I haven't ever received a flight package. My suspicions were aroused so I lodged a complaint with the Qld Department of consumer affairs, and I followed it up with another email to getaway escapes demanding a full and immediate refund. I then received a message stating that a cheque has been sent to me. Another way for these shonkies to delay my refund. Stay away from this fraudulent company.
