I became a Time share owner of Villa Del Palmar in August 2012. I received a call from Preferred Guest Resorts (PGR)in September 2012 (also know as Best Vacations Ever) that I was entitled to an All Inclusive package of 5 days and 4 nights each to Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Cosa Rica and Dominican Republic and was charged US $795. I specifically mentioned that I has just become a time share owner of Villa Del Palmar and was told I would still be entitled to the above all inclusive packages. I was not informed there was a renewal fee and that associations with above resorts mentioned could change/terminate.

I was contacted again on October 1, 2013 by PGR and was told that I have to pay US $297 to extend my package for another 2 years and if I did not I would lose my initial amount...so I paid up.

For the first time I decided to take a break with my wife and teenage child last week..November 2014. I booked for Costa Rica and was later informed that since my child was 15 years I will need to book a condo @ $200/day which I declined, so I requested th booking for Cabos and an amount of about $800 was promptly drawn from my account as an admn/other charges. After 5 days I get a response that since I am a Time Share member of Villa Del Palmar (and PGR have a tie up to only that resort in Mexico) I will not be able to make use of either the Cancun or the Cabos locations. The last location originally available was Dominican Republic, they no longer do business with this location so that is not an option and will not be provided with an alternative.

I spoke to Jose, Manager at the Quality Assurance Dept of PGR. I informed him that I felt duped that I am not entitled to any of the all inclusive packages I signed up for (and have all the details in the email) He said I would not be entitled to a refund of the $1100 paid between 2012 and 2013. He stated there is no escalation process to go above him hence there was no recourse available for a resolution.

Hopefully someone will take action on this, as with this experience, other like me will view even genuine offers as a scam.
