home solicitation to donate a set of books to a children's hospital. Salesman said they usually ship direct to hospital but wife wanted to be able to verify receipt of product so she insisted that the set of 12 children's books be delivered to our house. Nothing received.
Called the number on Receipt - 586/415-8078 - on July 7. "oh, just send us a fax and we'll get that right out to you." I have confirmation of fax transmission. Nothing.
Just got off the phone with same woman, identified herself as "J. Summers", on September 29. "Oh, we have no record of receiving fax."
Had my wife agreed to have the books "shipped directly to the hospital" we would never have known this was a scam. We want "a set of 12 children's books" or our $42 back.
