We purchased a "used" car from Jacoby Motors with a limited 30 warranty that is suppose to cover the engine. 24 hours and 300 miles later our family was stranded in Gainesville, FL with a locked up engine. pay out $3,604.04 with $1,191.00 of that labor (which is supposed to be 100% reimbursed. We had no choice but to have the engine replaced so that we could drive the vehicle. When I spoke to Theo (owner) of Jacoby Motors he stated that they would not honor the 100% labor reimbursement because "their" mechanics could have done it cheaper. No where in the warranty does it state that repairs have to be done by them. Once again the "lemon" vehicle that they sold us, stranded us for 4 days in a city we knew nothing about. Thank God for Geico & Tires Plus. Not only that BUT I placed numerous phone calls to get the Title, only to be told that there is a balance on the vehicle. I said the only balance should be tax, tag & title. I was once again told no, the balance has not been paid. I asked for a breakdown of the supposedly owed balance. $249.00 (dealer prep fee) & $356.94 tax plus the cost of tags & title. I said that's incorrect. Joe (salesman) told my husband that the tags & title were included in the dealer prep fee. I had to pay the amount in order for them to send me the Title. Now here's where it get's even more ridiculous. I paid the amount in full on Thurs. 11/03/11 Theo (owner) charged me $87.97 Title, plus $33.00 to supposedly Fed Ex it Next Day. He assured me that I would have it before or by 3 p.m. I still have NO TITLE! Temporary tags that are going to be expired. This dealership sold us an unreliable vehicle from the very beginning, they do not honor the terms of their warranty and they will scam you for every nickel and dime that they can without following through on their end. All the shallow excuses that I got as to why I still have not received the Title add up to lies. Our grand total in less than one month is $9,836.04 .... amount broken down. $5,700.00 (cash PIF/drove off lot) $250.00 (next day oil change/2 new tires one had a nail in it, the other the inside wall was split from the rim) 24 hrs later & 300 miles New engine $3,604.04 (free tow/courtesy of Geico) $726.91 tax, title, dealer prep BS fee & Next day shipping (that apparently takes 4 days). Could've have bought a new car for that price.

  • My wife and I had a similar situation happen to us at this same dealership with a used car we bought from Teo ( owner of the dealership). He scammed us and does NOT want to honor the 30 day "warranty" that he supposably gives his customers. He sold us a car that was NEVER inspected and resulted that the car we bought has a major motor problem that will soon give out. On top of the high price we paid for the car, the issues to get the car fixed is another $3,500. It is rediculous the money I've had to fork out on top of the $3,000 I gave for down payment. My wife and I tried talking to him about the problem and he is the most rude, disrespectful and unprofessional person ever. I do NOT recommend this dealership to anyone. He is a scammer and does nothing to give customer service.
